Plateau residents can tune into some of bluegrass' finest Saturday night as the Enumclaw Arts Commission welcomes the Laurie Lewis Trio for its Evenings on the Plateau series. Show time is 7 p.m. at the Enumclaw High auditorium.

Laurie Lewis is a band leader, singer, songwriter, fiddler, guitarist and bass player. Tom Rozzum, on mandolin and guitar, and Scott Huffman, on banjo and guitar, round out the trio.

For more than 20 years, Lewis has been a key figure in bluegrass circles.

Her album "Love Chooses You" won the 1989-1990 Country Album of the Year designation from the National Association of Independent Record Distributors.

She was voted International Bluegrass Music Associations Female Vocalist of the Year in 1992 and 1994, vying with Alison Krauss for the 1994 honor. Her rendition of Kate Long's ballad "Who Will Watch The Home Place" was voted Song of the Year by the IBMA in 1994.

The album "The Oak and the Laurel" with Rozzum was nominated for a Grammy as Best Traditional Folk Album in 1996.
