The Bonney Lake Senior Center will sponsor its Summer Rummage Sale fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8.

Senior Services Assistant Staci Guirsch said money raised from the sale will help supplement trips, educational speakers, special events and other activities.

The annual event has become a popular find for area bargain hunters. Some of last year’s hottest catches included household items, children’s clothing and purses, Guirsch said.

The sale is just one of several fundraisers planned throughout the year by the Senior Advisory Board and its volunteers to help supplement several programs, including senior footcare, special events, Bonney Lake Kiwanis’s household chores and repairs program and monetary donations to Lions 4 Kids House, Bonney Lake Food Bank and Sumner School District to help provide school supplies for low income students.

Donations of clean, reusable items may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Aug. 3 through Aug. 7. The staff reserves the right to refuse donations that are in non-working condition, are in surplus inventory or any due to cleanliness, Guirsch said.
