A male student at Mountain View Junior High School was arrested and charged with calling in a bomb threat to the school at about 10:30 a.m. April 7.

Bonney Lake police officers were called to the school after the threat was made and investigated the scene. The school was evacuated and two bomb-sniffing dogs were brought to the school.

One dog came from the King County Sheriff's Office and the other from the Seattle Police Department.

No suspicious substances or packages were found.

The suspect was arrested Thursday and, according to Police Chief Bryan Jeter, the student confessed.

Jeter stated the suspect will be charged with a class B felony.

Washington state law describes a class B felony as crime with a sentence of up to 10 years confinement in a state correctional institution or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court not to exceed $20,000, or by both such confinement and fine.
