The Bonney Lake Justice Center’s new courtroom got a shakedown of sorts June 3 when Darin Mott’s seventh-grade highly capable English/Social Studies class from Lakeridge Middle School conducted a mock trial in the court chambers, the first trial of any kind to be tried at the facility.

The case centered around a soccer match in which one player injured another and was charged with assault. The jury, made up of parents, found the defendent not guilty on one charge and failed to reach a verdict on another.

Real trials in the court Chambers began June 6.
