THEFT

THEFT

• A 33-year-old woman reported on June 2 the theft of $1,580 in cash from her residence on Island Drive East. Police spoke with her at 12:47 p.m. and she stated she earned $1,600 by selling some of her furniture during a yard sale. When she checked where she stored the money, $1,580 was missing. The woman is renting out two rooms in her residence and acknowledged the two tenants had access to the storage area, but said she knows one of them well and did not suspect her. The other, a 44-year-old female, has a criminal history, according to the 33-year-old, but she does not know to what extent. The 33-year-old told police she gave the 44-year-old three days to move out, but did not confront her about the missing cash. Police provided the woman with a case number and asked if she had any further information on the woman. Police discovered she was arrested earier this year for theft and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent.

MARIJUANA

• An officer patrolling Allan Yorke Park noticed at 6:18 p.m. May 29 a group of people loitiering in a clearing and passing amongst each other a glass pipe typically used for smoking marijuana and smoking from it. The officer detained the three subjects, a 21-year-old male, a 20-year-old male, and a 23-year-old female. The 21-year-old male admitted he had an illegal substance in his pocked and the officer recovered a baggie containing what appeared to be marijuana. He arrested the 21-year-old for unlawful possession of marijuana. He then arrested the 23-year-old female for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The 20-year-old male was trespassed from the park through Sept. 7. The 23-year-old was issued a criminal citation for unlawful possession of marijuana and the 21-year-old was given a criminal citation for unlawful possession of marijuana.

WARRANT

• Police stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on the West Tapps Highway at 1:22 p.m. on May 29. The vehicle’s windshield had several large cracks within the driver’s line of sight. The officer told the driver why he stopped him and asked for his license, registration, and proof of insurance. The driver was revealed to have a driving status as suspended due to an unpaid ticket. A misdemeanor warrant was also out for the 22-year-old male’s arrest for theft 3. At this time, the officer arrested the man and he was transferred to another officer’s custody and transported to the Puyallup Police Department, which issued the warrant.
