DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• On June 7, a 52-year-old male driving erratically on state Route 410 was arrested and booked into the Buckley jail for driving under the influence, resisting arrest and obstructing a public servant. The driver was reportedly attempting to ram the person who reported the incident.

THEFT

• At approximately 3:30 p.m. June 10, police contacted a 41-year-old male regarding a theft from the man’s vehicle while parked at a retail store along SR 410. The man reported a digital camera and lens worth $2,500 were missing, along with a GPS unit valued at $500 and an iPod nano valued at $175.

FRAUD/IDENTITY THEFT

• At 3:42 p.m. June 4, a 37-year-old female was arrested for fraud and identity theft after attempting to pass a forged check in the amount of $600. The suspect attempted to flee in a vehicle, but was stopped by police. The suspect admitted to attempting to pass the check and stated she successfully committed a forgery at the same location on June 1 and received $400. The woman admitted to working with a forgery ring in which she cashes checks and gives a portion of the money to the group. The woman was booked into Pierce County Jail for two counts of forgery and one count of identity theft.

DOG BITE

• At 8:13 p.m. June 7, police responded to a dog bite incident at a residence on 218th Avenue Court East. Upon arrival police contacted a 62-year-old male who reported being bitten by a neighbor’s dog. The man, through a translator, stated he was walking in front of a residence when a dog came out and bit his hand. The dog’s owner, a 16-year-old male, stated the dog was on a leash in the yard and bit the man when the man attempted to pet the dog. The 62-year-old stated this was not true. He was treated by East Pierce Fire and Rescue.

CIVIL STANDBY

• At approximately 12:28 p.m. June 4, an officer was sent to a residence on 82nd Street East to keep the peace while a 27-year-old removed items from a residence inhabited by her boyfriend, who is the father of her two children. She told police there is a temporary protection order stemming from an assault arrest the previous weekend against her 26-year-old boyfriend. The order prohibits her from contacting her boyfriend, but she was advised to ask police to stand by while she retrieved items. The boyfriend was contacted and he consented to have the girlfriend remove her belongings from the residence.

FELONY WARRANT

• At approximately 4:30 p.m. June 5, police contacted two male subjects, ages 33 and 39, who were trespassing and fishing illegally in the Lake Tapps flume. A 39-year-old male subject was arrested on three outstanding warrants and was taken into custody.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT

• At 6:30 p.m. June 10, a 32-year-old male arrived at the police station to inform police a 45-year-old male attempted to run him off the road in the 9000 block of Main Street. The 32-year-old and a 42-year-old acquaintance told police there were other incidents of harassment from the same individual. The two completed written statements because the 32-year-old stated he wanted to press charges.

THEFT

• At 3:31 p.m. June 5, police were dispatched to a business on SR 410 regarding a shoplifter in custody. A 37-year-old male was cited for theft and released at the scene. He had attempted to use a receipt he had taken into the store with him to then leave with beer, which he hadn’t paid for.
