DUI/FALSE STATEMENT
• At 5:11 p.m. Jan. 1, police responded to a business at 211th Avenue for a disorderly conduct report involving a man and a woman. The woman allegedly fell and was being helped by patrons in the bar. The woman’s husband, a 68-year-old male, became upset at the people trying to help. The woman was treated and taken to the hospital. The bar manager told the woman’s husband not to drive and an officer told him he needed to call for a ride. Police observed the manager make several attempts to convince the man not to drive, but he attempted to drive anyway and was stopped for driving under the influence. When asked to exit the vehicle he became belligerent and said he would not get out. The man was removed from the vehicle and told to face the vehicle to be handcuffed, but refused. The man did not cooperate with being placed in a patrol car, so a jail van from Buckley was requested. The man was forced into the van and taken to the Buckley City Jail, but refused to cooperate with breath tests.
BURGLARY
• At 10:25 p.m. Jan. 6, police responded to a residence on 70th Street East regarding a burglary. The reporting party stated he heard a noise coming from the master bedroom; he looked inside and saw a subject wearing a ski mask and gloves. The suspect then fled. No items were taken.
OBSTRUCTING
• At 5:45 p.m. Jan. 4, police stopped a 22-year-old female and a 21-year-old male after a records check revealed the recent purchaser of their vehicle had a suspended license and an outstanding felony warrant issued by the Department of Corrections for escaping community custody. The woman told police she did not have identification on her and gave a false name. The male driver said the passenger was his girlfriend; he provided a false name for her and said he did not know her age. Police had the woman exit the vehicle and she identified herself correctly. She said the driver was her boyfriend and was trying to prevent her from being arrested. The male had his driver’s license suspended and was placed under arrest for the violation and for providing false information and taken to the Buckley jail. The woman was transported to the Enumclaw jail and booked for the warrant.
