Bonney Lake principal awarded for most effective administrator

Bonney Lake High School Principal, Linda Masteller, received the Robert J. Handy Most Effective Administrator Award for 2014.

Bonney Lake High School Principal, Linda Masteller, received the Robert J. Handy Most Effective Administrator Award for 2014.

Under Masteller’s leadership, Bonney Lake High School has become an award winning school. In 2011, they received the Washington State Innovative School Award and in 2013 they were the recipient of the High Schools That Work Outstanding High School Award.

In 2014, Bonney LakeHigh School received the Washington Achievement Award for growth in student performance over the past five years.

“When Bonney Lake High School opened nine years ago, Linda, along with teachers, parents, students, and community adopted the vision “Excellence of Mind, Strength of Character,” Superintendent Sara Johnson said. “Linda handpicked the most excellent and top-notch teachers around and the success of the school is reflected in the outcomes.”

Established in 2002, these awards recognize outstanding Washington public school administrators. Robert J. Handy Awards are sponsored jointly by PEMCO, the School Employees Credit Union, and the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA).
