There’s still time left to file for office

It’s filing week: Want to run for office? Candidate filing week opened Monday, May 16, and you have until May 20 to finalize and submit filings for office. Locally, the seats currently held by Reps. Jesse Johnson (30th District), Drew Stokesbary (31st District) and Eric Robertson (31st Ditrict), and Sen. Phil Fortunato (31st District) are up for re-election. Call 206-296-1565 for assistance.

Price change: You may have noticed Courier-Herald drop boxes around Enumclaw, Black Diamond, and Buckley are asking for an additional quarter for your local paper. That’s no fluke — Sound Publishing, the Courier-Herald’s publishing company, has increased the price of individual editions to $1.25. If you’d like to save some quarters, come in to the Courier-Herald office at 1186 Myrtle Avenue to sign up for a two-year subscription at $116 a year, which includes two free months and unlimited digital access. You can also go online to courierherald.com/ech2022/ to sign up for a one- or two-year subscription.
