A sentencing update for Allan and Joann Thomas, a headline correction, and a Plateau airport update.

SENTENCING UPDATE: Allen Bittner, who pleaded guilty to poisoning and molesting his daughters, had his sentencing date moved from Sept. 30 to Nov. 18.

HEADLINE CORRECTION: The headline “EHS football suffers first loss to Cardinals”, printed in the Oct. 12 edition, was incorrect; the Enumclaw Hornets actually trounced their opponents. The headline has been updated online.

CACC RECOMMENDATIONS: The Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission, tasked with recommending a solution for Washington’s airport needs to the state legislature, has made its initial recommendations: Expand Paine Field in Snohomish County, help smaller regional airports handle commercial flights if they want, and explore placing a new airport at a greenfield in Pierce or Thurston County. (As promised, the King County Southeast site was not among their recommendations.) A more in-depth story and update on the airport situation will appear in next week’s story.
