DRIVING WHILE SUSPENDED: An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on West Mason Avenue the evening of May 4. A Department of Licensing check of the driver showed he had a suspended license. He was cited and released on scene. The vehicle was released to the passenger, who had a valid license.

TOILET TROUBLE: An officer was dispatched to North C Street at 3 p.m. May 4 for a malicious mischief report. The facilities manager reported that an unknown person had damaged a urinal in the boys bathroom on the north practice field. The urinal had several holes punched in it by a bent metal bar, causing $150 in damage. The crime had no witnesses or suspects.

ASSAULT: At 2:30 p.m. May 5, a 33-year-old man went to East Mason Street to visit his brother and his brother’s 27-year-old girlfriend. An argument ensued, which escalated when the girlfriend scratched the visitor’s face with her nails, leaving marks. The man filed an assault charge with the department.

PERMANENT INK: At 4 p.m. May 6, a citizen reported that unknown persons had written on several buildings at a North C Street address with black permanent marker. Pictures were taken, but there were no suspects.

A BRIDGE TOO SOON: Shortly after 10 p.m. May 7, a patrol car stopped a vehicle for speeding on state Route 410 at the upper cemetery road. The officer activated the emergency lights and the vehicle stopped on the center of a bridge. The driver moved off the bridge and he was soon arrested for driving under the influence.
