People can celebrate the coming of autumn this weekend at the fifth annual Buckley Harvest Festival.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and activities will take place on River Avenue, in Thunderbird Park and on Main Street in downtown Buckley.

The event, sponsored by the Buckley Chamber of Commerce, has many of the same activities as last year, including hay rides, a pumpkin carving contest, pumpkin painting, a haystack hunt, quilters, dog agility trials, the last country market of the year and vendors. Main Street will be closed off during the festival to allow 20 or so vendors to set up and show their wares. In addition to the vendors, there will be a Main Street sidewalk sale.

The festival will also feature a Model T Club vintage car show.

There will also be a haunted house ($3 donation per person) and all proceeds go to the White River School District Choice academy.

In conjunction with the festival, the Crystal Quilters will have their eighth annual quilt show. The show takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Buckley Hall. Admission is $3 and proceeds go to the local food bank.

For kids, there is face painting, balloon decorations and a bouncy house.

There will also be concessions and food, for people to satisfy their hunger.
