Car collision with Sumner driver and school bus | Washington State Patrol

The Washington State Patrol reported a car collision involving a school bus and a 22 year-old Sumner driver on state Route 302 on Oct. 23. The collision blocked the roadway for nearly three hours.

The Washington State Patrol reported a car collision involving a school bus and a 22 year-old Sumner driver on state Route 302 on Oct. 23. The collision blocked the roadway for nearly three hours.

The bus was traveling westbound on SR 302 when the Sumner driver, traveling east in a white pickup, crossed the median and struck the bus.

Two of the five juveniles on the bus were transported to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital with injuries. The driver of the bus was uninjured.

The driver of the white pickup was injured and transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital. The truck itself was totaled and towed.

The driver of the white pickup was charged with driving under the influence.
