The city of Enumclaw is encouraging citizens to share their views of what the city's future should hold.

The fourth, and final, meeting in a series regarding the ongoing comprehensive plan review is scheduled for Tuesday. The session will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and, unlike previous meetings, is slated for the Green River Community College building in Enumclaw.

The city has embarked on a nearly year-long process of updating its comprehensive plan, a document that spells out how the city should evolve. The comp plan addresses everything from land use and traffic to housing, parks and utilities.

Les Johnson, who heads the city's Department of Community Development, said Tuesday's meeting will build on the previous three. Those attending Tuesday's session will address three areas of town, and share their priorities for each. Under discussion will be a stretch along Griffin Avenue, the Second Street corridor and the commercial strip along state Route 410. The part of Griffin Avenue to be debated is west of downtown; it's an emerging office corridor and the city is wondering if there are opportunities for housing. Along 410, an exercise will address the linkage to downtown and look for ways to open the downtown core to passing highway traffic. The Second Street exercise will explore what types of job-producing firms might be enticed to the area.
