The city of Bonney Lake announced the purchase of 3.25 acres on Rhodes Lake Road at the Sept. 24 city council meeting. Council members voted unanimously to approve the $375,000 purchase, which is located at 18212 Rhodes Lake Road East.

Property owner Ken Love approached the city with an offer to sell because he believes the property would hold more value if utilized for the public. The property includes a view of Victor Falls and an historic home built in the early 1900s.

The city will soon begin exploring the property’s potential. It may be possible to turn it into a park with a link to the Fennel Creek Trail, said Mayor Neil Johnson.

“I’m really pleased to have worked with Ken Love to bring this property into city ownership. With a possible connection to the Fennel Creek Trail, I can see a park being developed here to provide a safe viewing point for Victor Falls,” Johnson said.
