City offices remain open during Federal government shutdown

City of Bonney Lake offices and services are not impacted by the U.S. federal government shutdown

The following was released by the City of Bonney Lake Oct. 1:

City of Bonney Lake offices and services are not impacted by the U.S. federal government shutdown – we are open for business today as usual. Below you’ll find information on the status of some federal services during the shutdown. For more information visit www.usa.gov/shutdown.shtml or call 1-800-FED-INFO (1-800-333-4636).

The USA.gov website indicates that the following services will continue during the government shut down:

  • The U.S. Postal Service will keep delivering mail.
  • Social Security beneficiaries will continue receiving checks.
  • Active military will continue serving.
  • Air traffic controllers, prison guards and border patrol agents will remain on the job.
  • NASA Mission Control will continue supporting astronauts serving on the Space Station.

Passport Services will continue to be provided as long as funds are available; please check www.travel.state.gov for status updates or call the Bonney Lake Municipal Court, whose staff handle passport applications, at 253.862.6606, before coming in for passport services.
