An Enumclaw resident was convicted on narcotics distribution charges March 23, concluding a joint investigation that involved Enumclaw Police Department detectives and agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Jamy K. Haynen had pleaded guilty to federal drug charges and was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lasnik. Jaynen also faces three years of supervision following his release.

According to a press release issued by the Enumclaw Police Department, Haynen was the subject of a nine-month investigation by local narcotics detectives and federal authorities.At one point, undercover officers purchased 1,000 tablets of Ecstasy from Haynen.

As an offshoot of the conviction, Enumclaw police have taken possession of a 2004 Cadillac Escalade seized during Haynen’s arrest. The vehicle can be used by the department or sold. Funds from seized assets must be used to combat drug crimes.

Local police have noted that Haynen’s arrest and conviction also led to the arrest of other narcotics suspects.
