This is the time of year we typically see a spike in collisions between vehicles and wildlife.

It’s easy to see why. Colder temperatures send deer and elk down to the lowlands looking for food.

It’s harvest season and animals go where the food is. It’s also both hunting and mating season for elk and deer and that means even more movement.

We’ve taken steps to try to prevent wildlife-vehicle collisions but it’s always a great idea to be on extra alert in this colder months, especially when you’re in more rural areas. Let’s try to keep our four-wheeled vehicles and our four-legged friends as safe as possible.
