County library system expands free online help for homework

Pierce County Library System offers added services to its free online homework help, available in English and Spanish, seven days a week from 1 to 10 p.m. People may access these services online anywhere with a Pierce County Library card or by using a computer at any of 17 Pierce County Libraries.

“As students return to school this fall, we are pleased to provide enhancements to our online homework help,” said Neel Parikh, executive director for Pierce County Library System. “The new features and expanded age levels will help more students succeed at school and in life.”

Online Homework Help serves kindergarten through college-age students.

The service now includes a 24-hour writing lab. Students may use the secure file sharing feature to submit their papers to trained writing instructors at any time. In addition, Online Homework Help offers state-aligned skills building lessons from expert tutors.

The library continues to provide the service that allows students to work with online tutors for live, on-demand homework help with math, science, English and social studies. Tutors and students communicate in real time by typing, drawing and marking up lessons and Web content.

All tutors and coaches reside in the U.S., possess four-year college degrees, undergo a rigorous selection and training process, and complete a full background and security check.
