Tom and DiDi Monroe of Bonney Lake have announced the engagement of their daughter Lauren Monroe to Paul Soderberg.

The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Sumner High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Washington State University and is currently a first-grade teacher at Victor Falls Elementary in the Sumner School district.

The groom-elect is the son of Bob and Margel Soderberg of Granger, Ind.

He is a graduate of Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind., and is a biology teacher at Graham-Kapowsin High School in the Bethel School district.

The wedding is planned for July 27 in Los Cobos, Mexico. The couple plans to reside in Puyallup.
