Crystal Mountain seeking artists for public art display | Crystal Mountain Resort

The artist or team selected to create the art will receive $5,000 plus a budget for their display.

The following is a press release from Crystal Mountain Resort:

Crystal Mountain is inviting all artists and artist teams to submit proposals for a public art piece to be displayed year-round on the mountain. The art installation will have an environmental focus to demonstrate sustainability as one of Crystal Mountain’s core values.

This piece will be a permanent, year-round addition to the mountain where guests will be able to interact with the art and be able to reflect on the mountain’s role in the environment.

The selected artist will receive a prize of $5,000 in addition to a project budget covering commission, installation, and materials. The project budget will be determined by the artist’s proposal and what is needed for the piece. The submissions will be reviewed by the Crystal Mountain leadership and marketing team committee to select an artist.

Artists that are interested in submitting a proposal must include the following materials:

  • Artist’s background
  • Relevant social media handles, website, and/or portfolio
  • Written proposal of art concept relating to environmentalism, sustainability, climate change, and connection to Crystal Mountain or the Pacific Northwest
  • Proposal sketches, drawings, renderings
