Lakeridge Middle School will host an information session for parents regarding Social Media and Cyber-Safety on December 11, 2014. Cyber-bullying is becoming one of the biggest challenges youth and schools are facing with the advancement of technology. This behavior peaks in late middle school although it occurs into high school and well after. Learn how to protect your child from becoming a victim as well as the consequences of taking part in this behavior.
Guest speaker, Lynn Kolp, has taught Internet Safety on a national level and was featured on CNN as an expert in Social Networking Crimes involving cyberbullying. Lynn has worked for the Pierce County Sheriff, Gig Harbor Police and currently works for the Law Enforcement Support Agency as a Tactical Analyst Coordinator.
This event is open to all District families.
