Des Moines Police rescue ducklings from storm drain

Mother duck appreciates effort

Des Moines Police officers came to the rescue of 12 ducklings that dropped into a storm drain on Wednesday, May 20.

A concerned resident called the city to let it know about the ducklings after they fell into a storm drain near South 270th Place and 8th Avenue South, according to Des Moines Police.

Police went to the scene and the mother duck waited patiently as officers rescued each of the ducklings out of the storm drain.
