THREE-CAR CRASH

At 4:35 p.m. July 30, police responded to a three-vehicle collision on state Route 410.

It was determined an 18-year-old from University Place had been distracted and struck a vehicle in the rear, damaging the auto and pushing it into a third vehicle. The two vehicles had been slowing due to traffic stopped in the roadway.

The 18-year-old was issued infractions for following too close and failing to provide proof of insurance.

ORDER VIOLATED

A Buckley woman called police shortly before noon July 30, reporting her husband violated a no-contact order by calling her on the phone.

Officers were not able to contact the man, so he was issued a criminal citation through the mail.

DRIVER ARRESTED

While on patrol at 10 a.m. July 30, an officer watched a vehicle turn onto state Route 410 without its headlights turned on.

After stopping the vehicle, the officer found the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.

He was arrested for not having a valid license and also received traffic infractions. He was released at the scene.

SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED

Officers were dispatched the afternoon of July 29 to a state Route 410 location, where employees identified a 27-year-old Enumclaw man who allegedly stole merchandise from the store.

The man was contacted and admitted to the crime. He was arrested, given a criminal citation, ordered to stay away from the business and released without incident.

VEHICLE PROWL

A Buckley resident reported July 29 that while he was at work someone smashed the passenger window of his vehicle and stole items.

ARREST WARRANT

While conducting traffic enforcement at 1:22 a.m. July 28, an officer stopped a vehicle that was traveling 51 mph in a 35 mph zone.

It was determined the motorist was driving with a suspended license and also was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Puyallup.

The driver was given infractions and handed over to a Puyallup officer. The vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

Officers were dispatched the afternoon of July 28 to a River Avenue apartment following a report of a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, a man and woman were separated.

It was determined an assault had occurred and the man was the primary aggressor. He was taken into custody and booked into the Enumclaw jail without incident.

PUMP DAMAGED

Officers were dispatched July 26 to a business on state Route 410 where a fuel pump had been damaged. It was determined there had been no malicious intent and the store owner was advised it was a civil matter, not a police action.

RAINIER ASSAULT

Police responded the morning of July 25 to Rainier School following a report of a client-on-client assault.

ACCIDENT ASSIST

A citizen arrived in the police station lobby the afternoon of July 20, explaining he had previously been in a traffic accident and the at-fault driver was refusing to call him back. Police contacted the at-fault driver and all agreed to handle the situation without police intervention.
