Downtown Enumclaw is preparing for Kids Day

Children of the community will be celebrated Saturday, as a downtown Enumclaw is given over to Kids Day.

Five hours will be dedicated to fun and games, arts and crafts, face painting, food and more. The "more" includes an appearance by special guest J.P. Patches.

Kids Day will operate from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Cole Street and Stevenson Avenue.

The day begins with a pet and doll parade at 11 a.m. Anyone interested in participating should gather prior to 11 on Initial Avenue, between Cole and Railroad streets. The rest of the day includes the following:

€ 11:30 a.m. - Tae Kwon Do Connection.

€ 11:45 a.m. - Enumclaw Gymnastics Center.

€ Noon - Enumclaw Native American dancers.

€ 12:30 p.m. - "Goin' Buggy," Judy Kurtz and performers.

€ 1 p.m. - Winners of the coloring contest will be announced. About 100 entries were completed and are on display in downtown businesses.

€ 1:30 p.m. - J.P. Patches until 3 p.m.

€ 3 p.m. - Tae Kwon Do Connection.

€ 3:15 p.m. - Enumclaw Gymnastics Center.

€ 3:30 p.m. - Belly dancing by Claire Wesley.

€ 3:45 p.m. - Belly dancing by Stephanie Fessler.

Scattered throughout the parking lot will be music and storytelling, pony rides and a Kiwanis food booth.

The event is sponsored by Enumclaw Youth and Family Services and the Enumclaw Downtown Partnership. All proceeds will benefit Plateau youth programs.
