Drivers in Sumner face detours on SR162 tonight and tomorrow

Crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close SR 162 between 74th and 96th streets tonight and Wednesday at 10 p.m. The roadway reopens to traffic by 5 a.m. the following mornings.

Pavement repair on state Route 162 in Sumner requires lane closures and a detour beginning tonight, Aug. 9 and tomorrow, Aug. 10.

Crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close SR 162 between 74^th and 96^th streets at 10 p.m. tonight and Wednesday. The roadway reopens to traffic by 5 a.m. the following mornings.

A signed detour at each end of the road closure will guide drivers to either 74^th Street or 96^th Street, onto Riverside Drive, and back onto SR 162.

The ramp from SR 162 to state Route 410 will also close 10 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10 to 5 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 11.
