THEFT: Police were contacted on Oct. 28 about the theft of a pressure washer from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 18100 109th Street Court East. Police are investigating.
SUSPENDED AND WARRANT: Police on routine patrol Oct. 30 observed a disabled vehicle with front end damage parked on the shoulder. Upon contact, the driver said he was not injured, but was “cut off” and struck the car in front of him. He did not have a license or insurance and his status was listed as suspended. He was cited for driving with license suspended and failure to provide insurance. He was also detained and later transferred to Pacific police on an outstanding warrant.
SUSPENDED: Police on patrol Nov. 4 observed a vehicle making a turn into a driveway on 182nd Avenue East without using a turn signal and pulled over the vehicle. Upon contact the driver provided a license but added “I’m suspended.” His license had been punched and he was unable to provide proof of insurance or registration. A check of the driver’s name revealed an outstanding warrant for driving with license suspended. He was transported to the Enumclaw jail and booked on his warrant.
STOP NEXT TIME: Police on Nov. 5 pulled over a vehicle for failure to stop at a stop sign and traveling at a rate estimated to be at least 15 mph over the speed limit. It also had an inoperative headlight. Police stopped the vehicle and the driver admitted to having a suspended license. he was cited fro driving while license suspended, failure to stop at a stop sign, headlamp infractions and failure to provide proof of insurance.
BURGLARY: Officers on Nov. 8 took a report of a burglary at her residence during the afternoon. According to the reporting party, she returned home from work and discovered a video game system and game stolen. The house was secured and nothing else was missing or appeared ransacked. Police are investigating.
INTERRUPTED BURGLARY: Police on Nov. 9 were dispatched to the 7400 block of Vandermark Road for a report of an interrupted burglary in progress. The resident was in the shower and heard her dog barking outside. When she came downstairs she saw her purse dumped out on her couch and a video game system removed from the living room, but left near a sliding glass door, which was open along with a kitchen window. It appeared someone entered through the window and left through the slider. Outside, a prescription bottle belonging to the resident was found empty. Between 30 and 40 video games were also missing. Police are investigating.
PROWL: Police on Nov. 10 were dispatched to 7200 block of 194th Avenue East for a report of a vehicle prowl. The owner reported his wallet, containing identification cards and bank cards, as well as a GPS and iPod Touch were taken from the vehicle. The owner also reported the driver’s side door had been tampered with. Police are investigating.
STOLEN GUN: Police on patrol late Nov. 13 ran the plates of a vehicle on state Route 410 and discovered the registered owner, whose description matched that of the driver, was driving with a suspended license and pulled over the vehicle. The driver was arrested. Police also determined the passenger to be a convicted felon. The driver gave permission to search the vehicle, informing police that he was a convicted felon and could not have guns and added, “There might be some paraphernalia in there, I used to do Oxy, but I’ve been clean now for 16 days.” Under the passenger seat, police found a revolver and a narcotics pipe and arrested the passenger for unlawful possession of a firearm. The passenger told police he did not know the gun was there. Police checked the serial number on the gun and discovered it to be reported as stolen. The driver said he did not know of the firearm either and was also placed under arrest for possession of a stolen firearm. Another officer located a bottle of pills in the car, identified as methadone. The driver told police he purchased the pills earlier in his attempts to stay clean, but did not have a prescription. Both subjects were transported to Pierce County jail. The driver was booked for driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. The passenger was booked for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
VANDALISM: Police on Nov. 13 took a report of damage to a living room window in the 8100 block of 179th Avenue East. The resident reported hearing a noise in the early morning hours and then observed two holes in his window and a rock next to his recliner. A second projectile was found outside. Police are investigating.
DRUGS: Police on patrol Nov. 14 observed a vehicle with a defective tail light and a cracked windshield. A records check indicated the registered owner to also be driving with license suspended and pulled over the vehicle. While the driver searched in her glove box for her insurance, police saw a glass pipe consistent with those used to smoke marijuana. Police located a second glass pipe in the car. She was cited for operating a vehicle with defective equipment and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
SUSPENDED: Police on routine patrol Nov. 15 pulled over a truck for not having mudflaps. Upon contact, the driver was discovered to be driving with a suspended license and transported to Buckley jail where he was booked. He also received a citation for no rear splash aprons.
PROWLED: Police on Nov. 16 responded to a report in the lobby of a vehicle prowl. The reporting party said two of his vehicles were broken into and items were taken, including a laptop computer. Police are investigating.
