Officers responded to vandalism, missing hikers and a burglary investigation, among other calls.

ENUMCLAW

August 11

– Officers were called at 10:20 p.m. due to a suspicious person looking around vehicles parked in a Warner Avenue lot. Police arrived but the individual left and did not stop for officers.

– A 911 call was forwarded through the King County Sheriff’s Office at 6:41 a.m. A caller stated there was a disturbance at a Lafromboise Street address. Police arrived and found it to be verbal only.

– A report was issued at 6:04 p.m. regarding an assault involving a firearm at a Roosevelt Avenue location. Responding officers determined the caller was not on the scene; also, the information provided was not confirmed by other callers. Police contacted one of the subjects involved who denied there was a firearm or any type of assault. A second party had departed prior to officers’ arrival.

– Police were told of vandalism done to a Fell Street residence. A report was taken.

– An afternoon report was taken regarding a man acting strangely outside a Griffin Avenue business. Police contacted the man who did not desire assistance.

– Fraudulent charges were made on a bank account. The bank froze the account and reimbursed the victim after a police incident number was received.

August 10

– A suspicious bottle of pills was found in the vicinity of Railroad Street and Griffin Avenue. The bottle was taken by police and placed in the department’s disposal site.

– Police were told of someone appearing to be in distress, walking along the road in the vicinity of Griffin Avenue and Semanski Street. An officer made contact and offered to provide resources, an offer that was declined.

– A morning report told of several vehicles being vandalized and property being stolen from a Roosevelt Avenue car lot. A report was taken and extra patrol was advised.

– In keeping with a court order, a firearm was surrendered to city police. Details were forwarded to King County Superior Court.

August 9

– A vehicle and trailer were reportedly blocking the exit in a public parking lot on Railroad Avenue. Upon an officer’s arrival the driver moved to a legal parking spot.

– Police took a partial report regarding hit-and-run incident at the Enumclaw Expo Center. The call was discontinued in mid-report and a call-back number was not available.

– A complaint was received about a motorhome and trailer parked on a city street, obstructing the view of oncoming traffic. Police contacted the registered owner who agreed to have both moved onto private property.

– Police took a report of malicious mischief to a vehicle on Hazel Place. The auto’s bumper was spray-painted. There were no witnesses or suspects.

August 8

– A 6:30 p.m. report told of a domestic disturbance in the Sun Mountain Drive neighborhood. An officer contacted the involved parties and a man was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence. He was taken to the Enumclaw station and booked.

– The King County Sheriff’s Office advised of a domestic violence suspect who departed, on foot, from a 284th Avenue Southeast location. Deputies noted they had probable cause for an arrest and were looking for help in locating the individual. Deputies later advised the suspect was in KCSO custody.

– Shortly before 9 a.m. police were called to assist Black Diamond police with a domestic violence/assault incident. A suspect was arrested by Black Diamond officers.

August 7

– Police took a 10:35 p.m. report about excessive noise coming from a Jasmine Lane residence. An officer made contact, the volume was turned down and people moved inside for the night.

BLACK DIAMOND

August 8

– Police were called twice to provide citizens with a “civil standby,” assuring a situation unfolded without incident. In both cases – one on 229th Place and one on Madrona Avenue – the standby was conducted without any trouble.

– Officers responded at 8:50 a.m. to the 30800 block of 228th Avenue Southeast after hearing of a domestic dispute that had become physical. Upon arrival, they determined a female had tried to forcefully remove a male from the residence and, in doing so, had committed assault. She was arrested and booked into the Enumclaw jail.

August 8

– An afternoon caller told of a disabled pickup, towing a horse trailer, that was blocking traffic on Morgan Street. Police found both the truck and trailer had been moved to the side of the road and were not blocking other vehicles. The driver was waiting for a delivery of gasoline to get her vehicle started.

– A traffic accident had officers responding at 1:45 p.m. to a Third Avenue location. They determined one driver crossed the centerline and collided with a horse trailer that was being towed by a pickup. The at-fault driver was transported to a local hospital, by a friend, for observation. Her vehicle was towed.

– Police took a morning call about a utility trailer that had been stolen from a Chestnut Avenue location. The trailer was equipped with GPS and was believed to be in the Marysville, Washington, vicinity. Marysville officers conducted a search but could not locate the missing trailer. A stolen vehicle report was completed.

August 6

– City officers headed to Enumclaw shortly before 2 a.m. to assist with the investigation of a residential burglary at a Charwila Lane location.

August 5

– An officer was dispatched to the 2700 block of Cumberland Way, the scene of a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries. A report was completed by the Washington State Patrol.

August 4

– Officers were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. to help located two hikers who went missing just outside the city limits. City police assisted King County deputies with locating the missing individuals.

August 3

– At 6:15 a.m. city police received a call about someone who had attempted to launch a boat into Lake Sawyer, but ended up with both the vehicle and trailer submerged. Eventually, a tow truck puled both the towing vehicle and trailer from the lake.

– An officer was called upon to confirm two warrants that had been issued by Black Diamond. Once they were confirmed, the wanted person was booked into the SCORE jail in Des Moines.

August 2

– Police were called at 5:35 a.m. to a residence in the 3100 block of Third Avenue due to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrived, officers spoke with a man who stated he and a woman had been involved in a physical altercation. The female had already left the scene. It was later determined that an assault had taken place and the man was summoned by mail to appear on a charge of fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.
