A damaged stop sign, sleeping subjects outside a church, and mailboxes damaged in a hit-and-run.

ENUMCLAW

Dec. 17

– A citizen arrived in the police station lobby, reporting a case of harassment. An officer determined no crime had been committed but told of possible options.

Dec. 16

– Police received several afternoon calls about something on the road causing it to be slick. An officer checked and found a problem in the eastbound lane of Southeast 436th Way between 244th and Porter Street. City crews were notified.

– A person arrived at the police station lobby to report a violation of a no-contact order. Police made contact and determined the incident occurred in Black Diamond. Possible options were explained.

Dec. 15

– A Semanski Street resident reported someone had been knocking on a window before being scared off. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate a suspect. Extra patrol was requested.

– A report was received regarding a stop sign that had been tampered with at Southeast 432nd Avenue and Division Street. An officer turned the sign so it faced the right direction and notified city crews of the need for repair.

– Someone found two shotguns in a vacant Warner Avenue apartment. The weapons were taken to the police station for safekeeping/destruction.

– A man called 911 stating he needed the police but hung up while being transferred to an interpreter. Officers responded to where the call originated but everyone at the scene denied having made the 911 call.

– Enumclaw police received an information broadcast about shots being fired in Bonney Lake. The incident involved a stolen vehicle which was driven a location between Buckley and Bonney Lake, where it was abandoned. (See story in this edition.)

Dec. 14

– Police took a report about an assault occurring at a Watson Street location. Officers arrived and determine it was a case of mutual combat without an identified victim.

– Police were asked to provide extra patrol at a Cole Street location after a screen was found removed from a window.

– At 12:38 a.m. an officer contacted two individuals sleeping at a Porter Street church. They were advised to move along. About 12 hours earlier, church staff had asked for extra patrol due to transients sleeping in the church doorway.

Dec. 13

– A patrolling officer came across a vehicle in a ditch near state Route 410 and Cole Street. The driver was eventually able to return to the road with the assistance of a citizen and city employees.

– It was 2 a.m. when a patrolling officer stopped a vehicle at Warner Avenue and state Route 410. The driver was arrested for DUI and the vehicle was impounded.

Dec. 12

– Police responded at 4:18 p.m. to a two-vehicle collision on Roosevelt Avenue. There were no injuries. One driver received an infraction.

– A fight at 12:53 p.m. had police responding to the vicinity of Griffin Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. The involved parties had separated and were getting into their vehicles. An area search for other people involved was unsuccessful.

– Police headed to a Myrtine Street address just after 5 a.m. to deal with a dispute among neighbors over a barking dog. The issue was settled upon police contact.

Dec. 11

– An officer found people sleeping outside the public library at 1:21 a.m. They moved along.

Dec. 10

– Police received a noise complaint shortly before 11 p.m. and responded to a Cooper Lane address where karaoke singers agreed to stop for the night.

– Officers wound up making an arrest after responding at 10:29 p.m. to a report of a domestic assault at an Initial Avenue location.

BLACK DIAMOND

Dec. 11

– An officer was dispatched at 9:37 a.m. to the 31600 block of Third Avenue after hearing of a hit-and-run incident. After contact was made with both of the involved parties, it was determined the collision had happened outside the Black Diamond city limits. The incident was referred to the Washington State Patrol.

– A King County deputy was dealing with a stolen vehicle in the 29200 block of 216th Avenue Southeast and a city officer was asked to assist. Black Diamond police helped with detaining suspects while county authorities handled the rest of the incident.

Dec. 10

– Black Diamond officers were dispatched to assist members of the Snoqualmie Police Department with an ongoing investigation.

– Police were dispatched shortly after 3 a.m. to the 31500 block of Third Avenue after learning of a reported burglary. When officers arrived, they found evidence of unlawful entry into a building and determined property had been taken. A suspect was identified.

Dec. 9

– A city police officer was given a stack of mail by a citizen who reported finding the mail on the side of a road near Enumclaw. The mail had been destined for eight different addresses, all in Black Diamond, and apparently had been stolen and later dumped along the road. The mail was returned to its rightful owners. There were no immediate suspects or leads regarding the mail thief.

– Police received a phone call from someone who had purchased a vehicle from a Black Diamond seller. The new owner never received a title for the car. An officer explained this was a civil issue and provided advice regarding obtaining a vehicle title.

– An unidentified driver crashed through the 30200 block of 224th Avenue Southeast, colliding with two mailboxes, a garbage can and a utility pole. Pieces of the suspect vehicle were left at the scene but police were unable to identify a suspect.

Dec. 8

– Officers were dispatched at 4:33 a.m. after taking a report of a suspicious person in the 30400 block of Blaine Avenue. It was noted that a suspect had been captured on video while taking mail from a mailbox. Officers conducted foot patrol of the area but failed to locate the suspect. Pending further leads the case was deemed inactive.

Dec. 7

– An attempted commercial burglary had police responding at 11 a.m. to a Third Avenue location. Officers confirmed someone had entered the property and used bolt cutters to cut both a lock and a fence before attempting to jump start a van in an attempt to steal it. The scene was processed for fingerprints and an investigation was initiated.

– Officers were dispatched to a burglary in the 31100 block of Third Avenue where they found a front door had been broken. One or more people had unlawfully entered the building with the intention of committing theft. The case was placed under investigation.

– City police were contacted by the Buckley Police Department and asked to make contact with the registered owner of an abandoned vehicle that had been involved in a collision. Black Diamond police were able to contact the parents of the registered owner of the vehicle and they were aware of the situation. The registered owner was home at the time after being picked up by his mother. Information was relayed to Buckley authorities.
