Two Enumclaw brothers died following a Saturday night automobile accident in Tacoma.

Jared Davis, 8, and 11-year-old Jordan Davis died after leaving a Monster Truck Show at the Tacoma Dome, according to regional news reports. Reports indicate their mother, a Bonney Lake resident, was driving on Bay Avenue near the Emerald Queen Casino when her car went into oncoming traffic after crossing over a concrete lane divider. The vehicle was reportedly hit on the passenger side by a sport utility vehicle.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:35 p.m.

Reports indicate the mother, 41, was arrested but has not yet been charged.

Both boys attended Kibler Elementary School, Jared in the third grade and Jordan in the fifth.

Kibler teachers gathered before school Tuesday – Monday was a holiday – to discuss how the situation would be handled with students. Superintendent Mike Nelson said all teachers in third through fifth grades addressed the deaths and allowed students to share stories of the brothers. Some classes began making cards.

Nelson said the district reached out to the family as soon as hearing the news Sunday.

The school’s PTA, he said, has offered to contribute to a yet-unplanned memorial service.
