Enumclaw fire, King County Guardians rescue kayakers

The stranded kayakers were rescued Tuesday evening.

The Enumclaw Fire Department and King County’s Guardian 1 and 2 helicopters rescued stranded kayakers on the Green River on July 1.

According to EFD Chief Ben Hayman, the call came in just before 2 p.m.

It was reported the kayakers were stuck on a logjam or stranded on a riverbank.

First responders located the kayakers on the river’s north bank near 34500 block of Enumclaw Franklin Road and rescued them by the evening, uninjured.

Involved in the rescue were the EFD and King County as well as Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, Mountain View Fire and Valley Regional Fire Authority.
