Dave DeBolt was playing a round of golf Feb. 25 when he fulfilled every golfer’s dream, sinking a hole-in-one.

The Enumclaw resident was playing the Maplewood course in Renton with friends Tim Bock, John Osborn and Mike Chilcott. All graduated from Enumclaw High with the class of 1969.

DeBolt, who doesn’t play often, used a 7 iron to ace No. 6, a par-3, 122-yard hole that requires a shot over water.

“We could tell it was close but couldn’t see his ball from the tee,” Bock wrote in an email. “After looking for and not finding his ball at the green we finally thought to check the cup.”
