Staff:

Please send students according to the posted times (later is OK if you have a few who missed their time).  They will sign-in and sign-out at the photo area, as well as receiving a note back to class.  The photo area will have EHS staff supervision.  We need all students who missed Hornet Days to have their photos taken.  (seniors too).  ID cards are required on campus.  They are free.  An ASB card is $40.00.

 

Photos from Hornet Days will be handed out today both lunches in the Commons.

EHS Student Football Fans:  Thank you for your continued support of Enumclaw High School football at Pete’s Pool.  A special announcement to all the tailgaters who enjoy pre-game activities in the parking lots—at the start of game time, all EHS students must either enter the stadium or leave the parking lots.  Thanks for your understanding of this new safety requirement.

 

Dance guest passes for Homecoming are available in the Activity Office now.  If you are bringing someone not enrolled at EHS you will need to fill this out and returned them to Mr. Pennington no later than Monday 24, 2012.

 

The Streetmasters’ Club will have their first meeting of the new school year this Thursday in the auto shop at 2:45 PM. The meeting should only last one hour. We will discuss our program of works which is our plan of activities and projects for this school year. Officers will also be elected. This club is open to anyone, not just automotive students. Please join us. If you have questions, please see Mr. Globe in the auto shop.

 

Attention Juniors & Seniors:  The PSAT and SAT Prep Course will be offered again this fall beginning TODAY.  The Prep Course is designed to prepare Seniors for the SAT test given on October 6, and to prepare Junior for the PSAT also given in October.  Interested students should sign up by paying the $100 course fee to Ramona in the front office.  If you have questions about the course, please stop in and see Mr. Milat in room 604 or Mr. Bruggeman in Portable 4.

 

Attention ALL National Honor Society members.  There will be a meeting during CORE/CHOICE on TODAY in the library.  We will be discussing membership requirements, Rotary Student of the Month and our first service project of the year.  This is a VERY important meeting so we need all members present.

The library will be closed during CORE TODAY because of the National Honor Society meeting.

 

Tired of walking really far to get to school just from your parking spot??  Here’s your chance to get a VIP Parking Spot!  Buy a lollipop from the senior class next Tuesday or Wednesday during both lunches and you will automatically earn a chance for the ULTIMATE parking spot!!!  You don’t want to miss this!  Entries are 2 dollars!

 

Are you skilled at talking in front of a crowd?  Then you would be interested in being a Host for the 2012 Homecoming Coronation on Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00PM in the EHS Commons.  A sign-up sheet is posted on Mrs. Miller’s door, room 201.  Please sign-up before Friday, September 14th, if you are interested in being the Master of Ceremonies.

 

Change of dates for the PSAT/NMSQT.  We have changed the testing date to Wednesday, October 17th at EHS during the morning from 8-12:00 in the large gym or library.  If you would like to take the test you may sign-up at the cashier’s office and pay the $20 fee for the test. A practice test is included in the pamphlet you will receive when you pay.

Who should take this test?  9th, 10th and 11th graders who are college bound students wanting an inexpensive practice for the SAT. In addition, for 11th graders, it is an opportunity to complete for the 9,600 National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test scholarships.

 

There is a Key Club meeting TODAY after school in Mr. Inde’s room, 321.  Anyone is welcome, so bring your friends.  Hope everyone can make it.

The September Scholarship List is now available.   Included is information for college planning, scholarships, college visits, enrichment opportunities and more.  Go to the career center swift website to print a copy or stop by the counseling or career center.

 

Information in Review:

Ladies, it’s that time of year again!  Homecoming is just around the corner, and we all know that dresses can be very expensive.  So what better way to shop, then to come to the first annual FCCLA Homecoming Fashion Show?  Not only will you support FCCLA, but you will also get an opportunity to see the dresses off rack and on a real human, and get these beautiful dresses for a slamming deal!  The show will be on Thursday, September 13 at 6:00PM in the Commons and general admission will be $5.00.  A VIP seat, which includes a front row perch and some other free goodies, costs $10.00.  Tickets will be sold during both lunches, next week and at the door.

 

RETAKE DAY is October 11 from 8:00 to 11:30AM in the Auditorium Lobby This is for students that did not like their photos or new students or anyone else that did not get their photos taken.  Everyone is required to have and ID card.  They are free.  ASB cards are $40.00.

 

This information is for girls concerning Homecoming on September 29.  If you are going to Homecoming and need a dress or gown for a $10.00 donation, come to JJ Smith School on September 12 between 2:30 & 4:30PM.  Many nice gowns are available and it is first come first serve. These are offered by Prom Dreams.

 

Come to the Homecoming Parade on September 28th at 4:00PM on Cole Street.  All entry forms must be into Mrs. Miller by September 21st.

 

Congrats to the Boys & Girls Cross Country teams for their 3rd place finishes at the Ellensburg Invite.

 

Congratulations to the girls Volleyball team who won their division at the Sundome Volleyball Festival in Yakima on Saturday.

CLUBS:

Join the Weight Club for fall season.  We meet at 2:30-4:00PM on  Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Pay $10 at the cashier’ office with your Weight Club form and your good to go.  See Mr. Gutierrez in room 209 if any questions.

 

COMMUNITY Happenings:

The Enumclaw Clothing Bank is opening for “Back to School” shopping.   We are open every Tuesday from 10am-6pm. (closed on school closures and holidays)  We are located at the JJ Smith building on Fell St. in the old library.

 

Do you like to bowl? Do you need some community service hours? Do you need a letter of recommendation? This is a fun way to do your community service.  You will bowl as a peer coach with an athlete with a disability. Assisting during practice and competing together at the King County Bowling Tournament.  You do not need to be a great bowler just ready to have fun.  We will have Adult Coaches to help you learn to bowl.

Enumclaw Special Olympics Bowling is taking registration for athletes with a disability and peer coaches without a disability.

We start bowling on Friday Sept. 21st – 3:30 to 5:00 at Daffodil Bowl in Puyallup.

Practice will be every Friday through Nov. 3rd. The Special Olympics Tournament is Sunday Nov. 4th  9am – 3
