MULTIPLE CHARGES: Police were notified the afternoon of Feb. 15 of a hit-and-run incident that has just occurred in the vicinity of Monroe Avenue. The victim was following the suspect and police were able to stop the suspect vehicle in Buckley. The female driver was arrested for hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license. It also was learned she was wanted on four felony warrants issued by the Spokane, Wash., Police Department. Her male passenger was arrested by Buckley police due to outstanding warrants issued by Tacoma. Buckley transported the man to Tacoma. The woman was taken to the King County jail before being transported to Spokane.

UTILITY ISSUE: Police were told Feb. 15 of low-hanging wires over a sidewalk in front of a Cole Street residence. Comcast was advised.

RING TAKEN: A ring was reportedly taken from the restroom at a Griffin Avenue address the afternoon of Feb. 15. Made of white and yellow gold and containing three diamond chips, it was valued at approximately $700.

DISORDERLY: Police responded at 1:24 a.m. Feb. 14 to a complaint of a female yelling in the hallway of a Griffin Avenue business. A manager had twice asked her to be quiet, prior to police intervention. She was taken into custody and booked for disorderly conduct.

EXTRA PATROL: The owner of a storage facility contacted police Feb. 14, asking for extra patrol. A lock had been broken on a gate and a security camera had been covered with a paper plate.

STOLEN PUPPIES?: A caller told police the afternoon of Feb. 13 someone was attempting to sell puppies and admitting they had been stolen. The suspect could not be located.

JUVENILE TROUBLE: A city man contacted police Feb. 13, asking that an officer speak to his teenage daughter about her behavior. An officer spoke with both the father and daughter and discussed the consequences of her actions.

WARRANT ARREST: Police met with a man who arrived at the police station lobby Feb. 13, surrendering due to being wanted on a Kent arrest warrant.  He was held until a Kent representative arrived to take custody. It was learned the man also was wanted on arrest warrants issued by from Seattle, Bellevue and Everett.

MAIL HEIST: A Florence Street resident told police Feb. 13 that mail had been stolen several days earlier. Delivery was confirmed by a mail carrier. Taken were credit card statements, a bank statement and a W-2 form issued by the victim’s employer.

STORES’ CHOICE: A man contacted police Feb. 13, asking for help getting local grocery stores to release the trespass orders lodged against him, so he can once again shop in town. A police sergeant told him that decision was up to the stores and not the police.
