THREATS ALLEGED: A woman called police at 7:48 a.m. March 1, reporting that her boyfriend had locked himself inside a Bathke Avenue residence with her 2-year-old child. The two had argued earlier and the caller alleged the boyfriend had made threats about what might happen if she left the relationship. The boyfriend told police he had fallen asleep and did not hear his girlfriend. The woman agreed to phone police if problems persist.

ASSAULT: A former girlfriend entered a Porter Street residence without permission and assaulted both the male occupant and the reporting party. No weapons were used and medical aid was not required. Both victims were left with scratch marks. The suspected departed before police could arrive.

UNWANTED PERSON: A Jewell Street resident called police at 3:28 a.m. Feb. 27, reporting her daughter, who had been drinking, was attempting to take a child in a vehicle. After an officer arrived, the daughter and a man left for the night.

SCAMMED: A cashier at a city business was reportedly the victim of a “short change” scam Feb. 27. The till was short $328. The same suspect was alleged to have committed the same scam at a second business.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: Police took a report Feb. 27 of an aggressive rottweiler at a Bondgard Avenue address. The reporting party was driving and reportedly had to swerve to avoid hitting the dog, which was on a long lead. The owner was contacted and agreed to provide a shorter lead that would keep the animal from reaching the roadway.

OUT OF CONTROL: Police responded the afternoon of Feb. 25 to a Battersby Avenue location and a report of a subject out of control. The reporting party declined to press charged for criminal trespass. The matter was settled upon police contact.
