SHOPLIFTING: At 2:45 a.m. Jan. 31, police were told of a shoplifting incident at a Roosevelt Avenue business. Police located the suspects – two males and a female – who were arrested for theft and being minors in possession of alcohol.
ROLLOVER ACCIDENT: An officer responded at 1:47 a.m. Jan. 30 to a one-car rollover accident in the vicinity of 244th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 440th Street. The accident scene was turned over to the Washington State Patrol.
NOISE COMPLAINT: An officer responded shortly before 1 a.m. Jan. 29 to a Semanski Street location and a report of a loud party. Alcohol was found in a vehicle parked outside and a glass bong was found and confiscation, to be destroyed. Contact was made with the resident, who was advised to call a halt to the party.
ASSAULT: Police responded Jan. 29 to an assault at a Florence Street location. The suspects had departed prior to the officer’s arrival. The victim was evaluated, then transported by ambulance to Enumclaw Regional Hospital.
STOP TEXTING: A city officer assisted a Washington State Patrol trooper with a traffic stop Jan. 29 on Roosevelt Avenue. The driver was cited by the trooper for texting while driving.
PRESCRIPTION FORGERY: Police took a report Jan. 28 of a prescription forgery involving a known subject. Approximately four hours later, the suspect was taken into custody by Bonney Lake police for the same offense and was transported to the Pierce County jail.
BURGLARY: Police were notified Jan. 28 after copper wire was stolen from a Wells Street location. There were no suspects.
DISTURBANCE: Police were told the afternoon of Jan. 28 of a male juvenile being chased and pushed around by four other juveniles in the vicinity of Cole Street and Initial Avenue. An officer contacted the group and determined no assault occured. All were admonished for causing a disturbance.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Staff at a preschool called police Jan. 28, reporting a suspicious man who had been outside the facility for a couple of hours. Officers made contact and the man said he was there to visit his child; it was explained that visitation was not allowed during school hours and he agreed to leave.
THEFT THWARTED: Police were called at 2:34 a.m. Jan. 27 to a Roosevelt Avenue business after an employee prevented a theft. A subject attempted to steal beer but was intercepted by the employee, who took the alcohol. The subject left on foot and police searched, but were unable to find the suspect.
VEHICLE PROWLS: Police took a report the morning of Jan. 27 regarding a vehicle that had been entered while parked on Cole Street. Items taken included pans, diabetic supplies, medication including oxycodone, clothing and $100 in cash. There were no suspects. Also on the 27th, police learned of a vehicle prowl on Pine Drive. A checkbook was taken in that incident.
COWS LOOSE: A traffic problem was created the afternoon of Jan. 27 by two cows running loose in the vicinity of Watson Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Police and firefighters were able to get the livestock contained.
JUVENILE TROUBLE: A group of four or five juveniles were seated outside the library Jan. 27, smoking and spitting. After being asked to leave several times – and refusing – police were called. An officer contacted the group and they agreed to leave.
