PROWLER

• Police were called after someone heard a prowler gong through a tool box on the back porch of an Elmont Avenue home. The incident occured at 5:22 a.m. Thursday. The caller reportedly heard footsteps on the porch, followed by the sound of the tool box being opened. There was a request for extra patrol as this was the second such incident.

MAIL THEFT

• Police were notified at 8:24 a.m. Thursday of a mail theft in progress at a Florence Street address. No suspects were located, but the victim said she suspected two younger females in a burgundy Jeep. Taken from her mailbox was a Netflix movie.

• A Clovercrest Street resident reported mail stolen between 6 and 8:25 a.m. Thursday. Two envelopes were taken, each with checks inside.

MARIJUANA

• A motorist was stopped at 10:40 p.m. Thuraday at the intersecton of Porter Street and Initial Avenue. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.

FOUND PROPERTY

• A citizen arrived in the police station lobby just after 11 a.m. Jan. 13, turning in a backpack that had been found near Watson Street and Warner Avenue. About 25 minutes later, the owner called to report the backpack stolen. Soon, the owner and property were reunited.

THEFT

• A McHugh Avenue resident told police at 5 p.m. Jan. 13 someone had stolen items from a garage. A report was taken.

HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT

• Enumclaw police were involved in a high-speed pursuit shortly before 1 a.m. Jan. 12. A Washington State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a speeding driver, but the motorist fled toward Buckley on state Route 410. Enumclaw police joined in a back-up role. In Buckley, the suspect driver drifted into the wrong lane and nearly struck an Enumclaw police vehicle. The pursuit came to a halt when the suspect lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a rollover accident. The suspect sustained injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. It was determined he was wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants. The accident scene was turned over to the Washington State Patrol for investigation.

AUTO THEFT

• An officer was dispatched at 1:37 a.m. Jan 12 to a Lafromboise Street residence to take a stolen vehicle report. While information was being gathered, the Washington State Patrol advised the missing vehicle had been located near milepost 29 on state Route 410. The vehicle needed to be towed from a ditch.

ARREST WARRANTS

• A routine check of an inmate prior to a Jan. 12 release turned up an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Bonney Lake. The warrant was issued because the suspect failed to appear in court on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was transported to the Buckley jail for booking.

• A routine check of an inmate prior to a Jan. 12 release turned up an outstanding arrest warrants issued by Puyallup and Bonney Lake. The suspect was transported to the Buckley jail for booking.

• At 2 p.m. Jan. 12, an off-duty Kent officer spotted a subject known to be wanted on an Auburn arrest warrant. An Enumclaw officer responded to a Roosevelt Avenue address, took the subject into custody and drove him to the White River Amphitheatre, where he was turned over to Auburn police.

DISORDERLY

• Hearing that an assault had occurred, police responded at 1:52 p.m. Jan. 12 to a Cole Street location. Both parties were present and one was arrested for disorderly conduct.

JUVENILE ARREST

• Police took a juvenile into custody at 2:40 a.m. Jan 11 for domestic violence assault. The youth was transfered to King County’s juvenile detention facility.

ASSAULT

• Officers responded at 9:56 a.m. Jan. 11 to a Sun Muntain Drive residents to meet with the victim of an assault. The suspect was identified as the victim’s brother; he was located and taken into custody. A second person, accompanying the brother, was known to have an outstanding arrest warrant and also was taken into custody.

COMBATIVE

• An officer responded the afternoon of Jan. 10 to Enumclaw Regional Hospital to assist staff with a combative patient. The patient was successfully restrained.

THREE CHARGES

• After responding to a domestic dispute call at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 9, police took one man into custody for malicious mischief, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

INTOXICATED

• Police received a complaint at 1:54 a.m. Jan. 9 of a group of intoxicated people causing a disturbance in a Roosevelt Avenue parking lot. Officers responded and the group agreed to go inside and be quiet.

BURGLARY

• A commercial burglary at a Roosevelt Avenue address was reported the morning of Jan. 9. Taken were money and liquor.

MINOR DRINKING

• At 10:44 p.m. Jan. 9, an officer contacted a group of juveniles in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue and Cole Street who were reportedly loitering and walking in the roadway. Two were taken into custody and booked for being minors in possession of alcohol, obstruction and malicious mischief. They were released to their parents.

• A traffic stop at 2:17 a.m. Jan. 10 on Griffin Avenue resulted in one person booked into jail, charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol. The vehicle was impounded and a second person was released at the scene.

AGENCY ASSIST

• Officers assisted firefighters who were making an aid call at 2 a.m. Jan. 8 at a Blake Street apartment. Officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana and the patient was taken by ambulance to Enumclaw Regional Hospital.

NOT ILLEGAL

• A citizen contacted police the afternoon of Jan. 8, telling of two teenagers who were playing guitars and soliciting donations. The caller wondered if the teens were violating the city’s panhandling ordinance. Officers determined the musicians were on private property, the owner didn’t seem to mind and the teens were not approaching anyone for donations, so no laws were being violated.

DRUGS FOUND

• A drug investigation Jan. 8 turned up two grams of marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia.
