TRAFFIC FATALITY: Police and medical personnel responded at 3:35 Nov. 16 to a Griffin Avenue location, near Pioneer Street, where a driver crashed into a power pole. The woman was unconscious; crews provided CPR and she was first transported to the Auburn hospital, then to Harborview Medical Center. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office reported shortly before 2 a.m. Nov. 17 she had died.

REQUEST DENIED: A woman arrived at the police station Nov. 16, asking for help retrieving personal belongings and her son from an apartment she shares with the child’s father. An officer explained that a court order would be needed to remove the son from his father. The woman decided against removing her belongings.

NO ONE HURT: Police were told the afternoon of Nov. 16 of a two-car accident in the parking area at Enumclaw High School. No one was hurt and the involved parties exchanged information.

HOSPITAL HELP: Police were called at 3:20 a.m. Nov 15 to assist King County deputies and an ambulance crew with a 20-year-old man who was refusing treatment at Enumclaw Medical Center. After contact, the man agreed to stay at the hospital.

THREATS MADE: A Loraine Street resident called police the afternoon of Nov. 15, reporting a problem with threats made by an ex-boyfriend. She was told police would respond the next time he arrived at the residence and also provided information about obtaining a no-contact order through the court.

STORM TROUBLES: Due to a wind storm the evening of Nov. 15, police responded to the intersection of state Route 164 and 244th Avenue Southeast where a traffic light was not working. The Department of Transportation was contacted but reported nothing could be done until power was restored. Also, police responded to the vicinity of Noel and Blake streets, where a tree fell and was blocking the roadway. The Fire Department assisted with the downed tree.

SCARING CUSTOMERS: Police attempted to locate a man at 10:20 p.m. Nov. 14 after hearing he was scaring customers at a Roosevelt Avenue store. He was located at a nearby business and given a no-trespassing notice.

SHOTS HEARD: A resident in the vicinity of Gossard Street and Kibler Avenue reported hearing several rounds of automatic weapon fire the afternoon of Nov. 14. A city officer responded, as did a King County deputy. Nothing out of the ordinary was found.

TRESPASSING: Police received a report at 2 a.m. Nov. 13 of a group of people attempting to break into a home and vehicle. One person was arrested on an Enumclaw Municipal Court warrant. All others were cited for criminal trespass and released.

DRUNK AND LOST: A Griffin Avenue resident called police at 2:50 a.m. Nov. 13, telling of a female suspect who was banging on the door. Officers contacted the suspect, who had been drinking and was lost. She was transported to a friend’s home.

SUSPICIOUS: Neighbors told police Nov. 13 of three males who entered the backyard of a vacant house nearby. One suspect departed before police arrived, but the other two juvenile males were contacted by police. They were found to be in possession of marijuana, taken to the police station and later released to parents.

ASSAULT: Police were told Nov. 13 that one employee punched another employee in the stomach at a Roosevelt Avenue business. The victim was advised to stop by the police station after she left the hospital. A follow-up discovered she did not visit the hospital, nor did she file a police report.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Police took a third-party report Nov. 13 of a domestic violence situation in progress involving a man under the influence of prescription medication. Officers confirmed the situation was verbal only and found the man had left the home; he agreed to spend the night at his mother’s residence.
