Father presses charges after son takes car without permission | BONNEY LAKE POLICE BLOTTER

SHOPLIFTING: Police on March 6 were called to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Store security witnessed the select several items from the shelves and place them in her purse. She then proceeded to a check stand where she paid for some items, but not the ones concealed in her purse. The items totaled more than $47. She was cited for theft and released at the scene.

WEAPONS POSSESSION: Officers on March 7 were dispatched to the 11000 block of 185th Avenue east for a possible domestic violence call involving two males and one female yelling at each other in the back yard. When police arrived, neighbors informed them that an individual was on a bike trail behind the homes. When police contacted the individual he told them he had a knife. Police located a dagger in his back pocket. He was detained for possession of a dangerous weapon. A records check indicated he had several outstanding warrants from Bonney Lake and Buckley. The individual said the argument was over money one person believed the other had stolen. The suspect was transported to Buckley Jail and booked for possession of a dangerous weapon and on his outstanding warrants.

THEFT: Police on March 9 were dispatched to the 76 Pit Stop on state Route 410 for a report of a theft. An employee reported that two electronic cigarettes, valued at more than $42 were stolen from a display case by a juvenile male. Police are investigating.

SHOPLIFTING: Police were dispatched to the Target March 9 for a report of a  white male who allegedly took a flat screen television and fled through an emergency door. Store security told police they recognized the man when he entered the store from prior possible shoplifts and attempted to begin surveillance. Security lost sight of the man for a moment and then heard the audible alarm from the rear emergency exit doors and looked outside to see the suspect carrying the television to a car parked toward the rear of the property. The television is valued at $600. Police are investigating.

PROWL: Police on March 10 took a report from a victim of a vehicle prowl. The resident, who lives in the 19300 block of 75th Street East, told police a tool kit valued at $200 was missing from his vehicle, which he said he left unlocked in his driveway. Police are investigating.

FRAUD: Officers on March 10 were dispatched to the lobby of the public safety building for a report of fraud. According to the victim, she was contacted by King County Solid Waste about an outstanding check. The check in question had been stolen in Auburn. Police are investigating.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Police on March 12 were dispatched to the 9300 block of 205th Avenue East for a report of damage to a resident’s fence. The resident reported hearing noises in her yard during the night and when she checked, her fence was broken and the gate was left open. Police are investigating.

DON’T TAKE MY CAR: Police on March 15 were dispatched to Myers Road for a report of a stolen car. As the officer returned to the station to write up the report, the victim called back to say that his 16-year-old son had been driving it. When police asked the juvenile about the incident he said he had been taking the car for two weeks. The parent immediately said he wanted to press charges. The parent said he did not give permission for the son to drive and the son did not have a license. The juvenile was arrested and the case was forwarded to Remann Hall for charges of taking a motor vehicle without permission and no valid operator’s license.

FOUND: Police on March 16 recovered a bicycle from the south commons of Mountain View Middle School. The bike was transported to the police department and placed into the property room.
