Crews will soon reach a significant milestone in its Interstate 5/State Route 16 Eastbound Nalley Valley project. Crews next week will install the final girders for the new viaduct and associated bridges. These last girders will support two on-ramps from South Sprague Avenue to northbound and southbound I-5. The girder setting completes the backbone for the on-ramps, scheduled to open this July.

To ensure safe installation, the roadway lanes in the construction zone must be closed. Drivers should plan ahead for a series of total night closures on eastbound State Route 16 at South Union Avenue. In addition, crews will close all lanes of South Tacoma Way under the highway for several nights.
