Firefighters sent to battle Wildland fires | East Pierce Fire & Rescue

East Pierce Fire and Rescue is supplying personnel and a brush rig to help battle wildland fires in central and eastern Washington. East Pierce Deputy Chief John McDonald left Tuesday night as part of the Type 2 Incident Management Team that is in charge of the Mills Canyon Fire near Enitat.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue is supplying personnel and a brush rig to help battle wildland fires in central and eastern Washington. East Pierce Deputy Chief John McDonald left Tuesday night as part of the Type 2 Incident Management Team that is in charge of the Mills Canyon Fire near Enitat.

Thursday, the district sent a brush truck staffed with two firefighters, plus a strike team leader and strike team leader-in-training to the brush fire near Spokane.

Typically, firefighters sent to wildland fires are deployed for 4-7 days.
