On Oct. 1 officers were called to a shoe store to a report of a shoplift. Employees told officers the subject had stolen a pair of shoes by trying them on and then running out of the store. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

FLED ON STOLEN SHOES: On Oct. 1 officers were called to a shoe store to a report of a shoplift. Employees told officers the subject had stolen a pair of shoes by trying them on and then running out of the store. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

NOT ATTACKED BY SHOPLIFTER: Officers were called Oct. 5 to a report of a grocery store employee being assaulted by a shoplifter. Dispatch advised the male subject had fled the scene without his shirt. Witnesses said that they had picked up the man, who was hitchhiking, and brought him to the store. From there, the man took two Danishes and attempted to keep the man from leaving the store. The man pushed past him and fled. No assault took place. Officers later located the man and returned his clothes, but not before discovering heroin in a pocket. The subject denied it was his. The man was trespassed from the store.
