Fun run will benefit animal rescue group

Grab your furry friend’s leash and head out to Lake Wilderness Park on Sept. 29.

Lake Wilderness Park will again be going to the dogs the morning of Saturday, Sept. 29.

Left Behind K-9 Rescue will host its third annual fundraising fun run at the popular park, found at 22500 S.E. 248th St. in Maple Valley.

The “Tails ’n’ Trails” 5K will see participants walking or running to benefit the local animal welfare organization. The 5K begins at 10 a.m. and there’s also a 1K course for kids.

Runners and walkers are welcome — encouraged, actually — to participate with well-behaved dogs.

Participants will receive an event T-shirt and “swag” provided by sponsors. The day also will feature refreshments and snacks.

The cost is $35 for the 5K and $20 for the 1K.
