Girl pleads guilty in stabbing

Faces 9 months in detention

A 15-year-old Bonney Lake girl pleaded guilty to a June 13 stabbing in court Thursday.

She faces up to nine months in detention.

The student, whose name is being withheld because of her age, admitted she stabbed another girl in a fight over a boy. The 13-year-old victim was stabbed while walking with friends.

The prosecutor recommended the 15-year-old be released from juvenile detention and placed on home electronic monitoring until sentencing.

“For the first month this summer, I couldn’t do anything because I was really scared,” the victim said in an interview with The News Tribune. “It’s scary to know that at any minute, someone could jump out of the bushes and attack you.”

After she serves her sentence, the attacker will be placed in a different high school than her victim.
