Voters will have the opportunity to hear from candidates during an Oct. 15 political forum at the Green River Community College building in Enumclaw.

The session, expected to last 90 minutes, will begin at 8 a.m. Coffee, juice and pastries will be provided.

Slated to attend are all six candidates chasing seats in the 31st Legislative District. The Senate race features a pair of Republicans, longtime incumbent Pam Roach and Cathy Dahlquist, who is relinquishing her seat in the House of Representatives to challenge for the Senate post.

With Dahlquist out of the House picture, the vacancy is being pursued by Republican Drew Stokesbary and Democrat Mike Sando. The House Position 2 seat features incumbent Christopher Hurst, who prefers the Independent Democrat label, and Republican Phil Fortunato.

Also appearing will be Democrat Jason Ritchie, a candidate for the District 8 seat in the U.S. Congress. Incumbent Dave Reichert will not attend.

Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Ballots will be distributed to voters in mid-October.

The political forum is jointly sponsored by Green River Community College and the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce. GRCC’s Enumclaw campus is at the corner of Griffin Avenue and Porter Street.
