HARASSMENT: Police took a report June 12 about a student being harassed at a local school. An officer made contact and determined there was mutual activity between two students. The parent was satisfied with the school staff handling the situation.

WINDOW SMASHED: A citizen watched a man break the window of a parked car at 1:43 a.m. June 12. The suspect  then fled in a white van. Later on the 12th the victim arrived at the police station, stating she had been in contact with the suspect and they had reached an agreement regarding repairs. There was to be no further police action.

JUVENILE PROBLEM: An anonymous motorist told police June 12 of two groups of youngsters on Semanski Street pretending to pull a rope across the roadway just as cars approached, causing a problem for drivers. An officer identified a house the kids ran to and contacted a parent who assured the behavior would not continue.

SAFE FOUND: A woman found a safe on her lawn while mowing June 13. An officer could not identify an owner so the safe was stored.

FIRE SET: A citizen contacted police at 1:11 a.m. June 11, reporting possible fireworks or gunshot in the vicinity of Wylanda Drive. Police found nothing suspicious. Twenty minutes later, police were advised to return to the scene for a possible arson, as a fire had been set in a garbage can. There were no suspects and the fire was extinguished by the homeowner.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: A pair of laptop computers were reported stolen June 11 from a Schmid Street residence. Someone entered the home through the garage while the homeowners were at work. The victims identified a family member as a suspect. The estimated value of the laptops is $3,000.

THEFT CLAIMED: Police were told June 11 $1,000 had been stolen from a resident’s room at a Jensen Street address. Further investigation was put on hold while it was determined if the funds had been stolen or misplaced.

DESK TAKEN: An antique desk valued at $180 were reportedly stolen June 11 f rom a Roosevelt Avenue address. The victim suspected a family member was involved. An officer contacted the named suspect and recovered the desk, which was returned to its owner. A theft report was taken.

PROTESTORS: A citizen called police the afternoon of June 11, concerned that protestors on the sidewalk in front of a Roosevelt Avenue store were creating a nuisance and potential traffic hazard. Police responded and found no issues requiring their attention.

SEX OFFENDER: A Florence Street resident arrived at the police station the evening of June 10 to report a suspicious subject living next door. Police determined the man had failed to register as a sex offender and also was wanted on a felony warrant issued by Everett.

CIVIL DISPUTE: Police responded June 10 to a Charwila Lane address after a landlord reported  threatening behavior by a tenant. The landlord said the tenant came to his residence at inappropriate times, usually very intoxicated. The tenant was given a 20-day notice to vacate his apartment.

WOMEN FOLLOWED: An officer made contact at 12:27 a.m. June 10 with two women who were being followed by a man in a truck. An officer contacted the man, who was advised to halt such activity.

CITY RIG STOLEN: A pickup belonging to the city of Enumclaw’s Parks and Recreation Department was reported stolen June 9 from Boise Creek Park. The 1988 Chevrolet S-10 was located in Buckley, found in a River Street parking lot, with the passenger-side window broken out. A witness provide information about a possible suspect. The vehicle was towed to Enumclaw.

CONTACTING KIDS: A man was reportedly acting strange and asking children where their parents were, prompting a citizen to call police at 6:18 p.m. June 8. Police responded to the Garrett Street location, contacted the man and advised him to stay away from children in the area.

ROAD RAGE: An officer was dispatched at 9:30 p.m. June 8 to a Roosevelt Avenue location, to assist an off-duty officer with a road rage incident. One person was arrested and booked on an arrest warrant issued by the Black Diamond Police Department.

NEIGHBORHOOD DISPUTE: A dispute over a party and barbecue on a city street had police responded June 8 to a Charwila Lane address. The caller was frustrated with neighbors for having continuous parties in the roadway. Party hosts were told to move the gathering from the street to their private property. Police responded a second time when the original caller complained of being harassed after the initial police visit.

WARRANT ARREST: An officer on patrol the afternoon of June 7 spotted a subject known to be wanted on active arrest warrants. By the time the warrants were confirmed, the suspect had left the area of Roosevelt Avenue on foot and could not be located. When the suspect returned to the area an hour later he was taken into custody on a Buckley warrant and booked into the Enumclaw jail.

DOG TROUBLE: Police receiving a noise complaing at 11:24 a.m. June 7 stemming from a large number of dogs barking at a Myrtine Street location. The homeowner noted that she “dog sits” during the day and the problem stems from another dog that gets loose from a Garfield Street residence and creates problems. The stray dog was returned to its home and its owner was warned to contain the animal in the yard. Thirty minutes later, police were notified that the dog was running loose again and creating another nuisance at the Myrtine Street address. The dog was again returned to its owner, who was again told to keep his dog contained in his yard. Forty minutes later, the dog was loose and again creating a nuisance for the Myrtine Street resident. The dog was returned to its owner a third time and the owner was given a final warning to contain his dog. King County Animal Control noted it had contacted the owner several times and would be issuing a written citation.

DANGEROUS WEAPON: After responding the morning of June 7 to a Semanski Street address, police detained one person for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a dangerous weapon. The subject was taken into custody and booked at the city jail.

TRAFFIC HAZARD: Police took reports the morning of June 7 regarding multiple vehicles speeding through the parking lot at Enumclaw High School. An officer located several vehicles parked by the tennis courts on campus, blocking the area. The drivers were contacted and were to move their vehicles. School security assisted with the student contacts.

INTO CUSTODY: Enumclaw police assisted the Black Diamond department at 1:24 a.m. June 7 by detaining a subject who was about to be released from St. Elizabeth Hospital. Enumclaw officers kept watch on the man until Black Diamond police could respond.

SHOPLIFTER CAUGHT: An Enumclaw shoplifter was quickly apprehended by Buckley police during the early-morning hours of June 6. Police were informed at 2:25 a.m. of a shoplifting incident at a Monroe Avenue grocery store, specifically that a man had walked out of the store without paying for a basket of items. He departed in an older-model Chevrolet van. While officers were talking to store employees, a Buckley officer spotted the suspect vehicle; after stopping the van, officers identified the stolen items. The suspect was taken into custody for theft and taken to the Enumclaw station for booking.

FIVE IN HOUSE: Police took a report at 3:58 a.m. June 6 of a suspicious person entering a vacant  house on Division Street. Police responded and found five subjects in the home. A female juvenile was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant and transported to juvenile hall. The remaining four were warned and released.

DOMESTIC SITUATION: A man was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence the morning of June 6. Police had responded to a Roosevelt Avenue location after hearing of a possible domestic dispute in progress.

FAMILY TROUBLE: A resident of Olie Ann Place sought additional police patrol June 6 due to a concern about a grandson coming to his residence and stealing personal property. The caller was advised to obtain a restraining order.

ASSAULT: The afternoon of June 6, an officer contacted a victim of an assault that occurred earlier in the day. After determining the incident took place outside the city limits, the case was referred to King County authorities.
