East Pierce Fire and Rescue firefighters are battling a brush fire near Sky Island. According to the East Pierce Firefighters IAFF Local 3520 Facebook site the Bonney Lake Police Department advised homes on 177th Ave Ct E to evacuate only.

EAST PIERCE post at 5:10 p.m.

“Currently firefighters from East Pierce, Central Pierce, Orting Valley on scene of this large brush fire, Sky Island area of ‪#‎BonneyLake‬. East Pierce has called a general alarm to bring off duty firefighters back to work. Fire crews will be on scene of this event for a while to ensure its contained and stays out. Firefighters are worried about spot fires developing from the embers flying away and will be working to ensure those dont cause more fires. We will continue to keep you updated.”
