Hungry Housewives busy with fundraisers

The Hungry Housewives, Buckley American Cancer Society Relay For Life’s top fundraising team, is on its way to another successful fundraising drive.

Crop Out Cancer, a scrapbooking and craft event hosted by The Hungry Housewives Jan. 31 at Glacier Middle School raised more than $1,460 for Relay For Life. Fifty people participated with more than 25 businesses and individuals donating items.

The Hungry Housewives’ next fundraiser is a fashion show and shopping event from 6 to 10 p.m. March 13 at Suburban Soul, 1335 Cole St., Enumclaw. Prepaid tickets cost $12, or $15 at the door. Included is a door prize ticket, wine from Sip City Wines, appetizers, stylist and makeup consultations, one-night-only discounts and 10 percent of purchases go to Relay For Life. The Hungry Housewives are not the only team raising money for this year’s RFL in Buckley. Anytime Fitness’ team is selling black Relay T-shirts for $20. Shirts can be ordered at Anytime Fitness in Buckley, Orting or Auburn. Columbia Bank, on state Route 410, hosts a bake sale the first Friday of each month to support Relay. The next one is March 5.
