It’s Daffodil Parade time!

The 78th Annual Daffodil Festival Grand Floral Street Parade is scheduled to reach Sumner’s Main Street at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with more than 100 participating bands, floats and other participants.

The theme of this year’s event is “Spirit of Adventure.”

Both the Bonney Lake and Sumner High School Marching Bands will participate in the parades, which start out in Tacoma before heading to Puyallup, Sumner and finally Orting. Also participating is the Sumner Middle School Band, as well as a VIP car for Sumner Mayor Dave Enslow and, of course, the Sumner Downtown Association’s float.

Daffodil Queen Claire Flemming of Curtios High School as well as her court, including Daffodil Princesses Peyton Jensen of Bonney Lake and Makel Ortiz, will also be on hand for the event.
