The Bonney Lake Co-op Preschool hosted a special kids fair Saturday at Finn Hall off 234th Avenue East to spread the word both about the school and child safety.

Last year, the school hosted a Safety Fair, but expanded this year to include several educational displays along with those promoting safety.

Among the displays were the Bonney Lake Police Department's 9-1-1 simulator, the East Pierce Fire and Rescue Fire Safety House, State Farm Insurance ID kits and folks from Good Samaritan fitting and selling bicycle helmets.

There were also tables set up from Kindermusik, the Young Athletes for a Cure Relay for Life team and two separate book sales and a bake sale.

Co-op co-president Tara Bohl said the fair provided a way for the co-op to give back to the community as well as tell other parents about their school, where parents work in the classrooms with the teachers.

&#8220It keeps the costs down and provides a lot of information for parents on parenting,” co-president Jennifer Fulfs said.

Bohl said the school doubled in size after last year's fair and called this weekend's event a success because of the number of parents and children who are not part of the school but came to the fair.

&#8220We're just continuing to grow our pre-school,” she said.
